RICS Dispute Resolution Service is presenting a series of seminars on construction contracts commonly used in Australia.

These will include AS2124, AS4000, AS4902, ABIC Suite, HIA suite, MBA suite, QBSA Suite, NEC3 suite and where applicable their complimentary subcontract conditions. These seminars will enable attendees to gain a solid and practical understanding of the individual contract forms, their differences and their correct application. The seminars will provide a practical guide to the interpretation of the various contract forms.

Course outline

In this seminar our trainers will examine AS4000. Cover key elements such as completion of Annexure, the role of the superintendent, time, programming, liquidated damages, variations, delay costs, acceleration, disruption and other claims, payment including the effects of BCIPA, defect rectification,breach of contract and dispute resolution. Explore the current views on waiver, estoppel, time bars,and the like together with commonly adopted amendments to the standard forms.

This seminar is designed for building and construction industry practitioners engaged in construction contracts governed by AS4000 General Conditions of Contract. The seminar will be beneficial to contractors, subcontractors, architects, quantity surveyors, engineers, project managers, contract administrators, construction engineers and the like engaged in contract administration or anyone wishing to gain experience in this field.
