QBSA Licensing and BCIPA (Half Day CPD Seminar – September)

Licensing concerns in adjudications under BCIPA continue to be an issue for claimants, respondents and adjudicators alike. Often, there can be uncertainty on many aspects of the licensing requirements under the QBSA Act. This uncertainty can have ramifications for both claimants and respondents, particularly when dealing with claims made under the BCIPA.

Jason Smith will provide an overview of the complex QBSA licensing requirements and scenarios for builders, trade contractors and consultants.

Troy Lewis will review recent adjudication decisions and court cases involving licensing issues and provide a legal and practical perspective for dealing with licensing issues at adjudication.

In addition, the speakers will also hold a question & answer session to address any of your concerns on licensing issues with particular regard to BCIPA. The aim of this seminar is to clarify the position of claimants and respondents in the adjudication process under BCIPA, particularly in cases that involve complex QBSA licensing issues. Participants are encouraged to submit their questions in advance for consideration by the panel and discussion during the seminar.
