During 2011 hopes to apply for authorisation as an Authorised Nominating Authority in SA under the Building and Construction Security of Payment Act 2009 once this legislation is enacted. In addition DRS is working towards making an application to become a nominating body under the Construction Contracts Act 2002 in New Zealand.

DRS will be offering a number of seminars on security of payment legislation in QLD, NSW and VIC within the next few months. Please keep an eye on the training schedule for further details.

Mediation:
DRS intends to launch its first Mediation Masterclass training course later this year which will hopefully extend to all jurisdictions.

Expert Witness:
The success of the ‘Experts in the Box’ workshop with Ian Hanger AM QC FRICS in Brisbane at the end of March has encouraged DRS to roll this out interstate, with the NSW workshop targeted for 26th May 2011.

DRS has experienced increased demand this year for nomination of experts under the RICS Expert Witness Registration Scheme.
