Adjudication Training

From time to time – usually once per year – the RICS DRS offers adjudicator training throughout different jurisdictions within Australia. RICS DRS Adjudicator training is the essential qualification for professionals interested in security of payment issues throughout the Oceania region – whether that be as an adjudicator or as security of payment ‘preparer’ who organises adjudication applications, adjudication responses, payment claims or payment schedules.

RICS DRS Adjudicator Training is an intensive two-day course that will provide the candidate with the necessary information to become registered as an adjudicator – either through state regulatory panels or through the RICS DRS itself.

The RICS DRS maintain strict regulations on gaining entry to the course, with candidates require at least ten years suitable experience to become eligible to apply to the RICS DRS panel of adjudicators.

The RICS DRS is a suitably qualified organisation for training adjudicators in all the jurisdictions in which we operate. This includes Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, the ACT, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Typically, the course requires the candidate to provide pre-course assessment, complete a written exam and provide a mock adjudication decision. It is possible to attend the event solely for interest.

The course costs $2,200.00 excluding GST for the adjudication qualification, which includes two days of training, assessment and the production of the relevant certificates. Candidates who wish to do the course without sitting the exams may attend the course for $1,200 excluding GST.

However, candidates should keep in mind that RICS DRS adjudicator course does not necessarily mean the candidate will receive automatic entry to the RICS DRS panel of adjudicators.

If you are interested in attending one of the intensive training courses in your jurisdiction, please feel free to get in contact with the RICS DRS. Keep an eye on our training schedule for further information.
